Promote Entrepreneurialism
We need to remove the government barriers to starting a new business. I advocate a moratorium on all fees during the first year of a new business. Furthermore, I am advocating the temporary removal of payroll taxes for new and existing businesses when they hire people currently on welfare or unemployment.
Establish Nevada as a leader in Energy
Our state is uniquely positioned to solve the problems facing our country, and the world, in dealing with long-term nuclear waste. While others propose storing waste at Yucca Mountain for 10,000 years, there is another option. There are clean nuclear energy producing technologies, based on Thorium that can consume the waste rendering 83% of the resulting product safe within 10 years, and the remainder safe in only 300 years. There currently exists a $30 billion Nuclear Trust Fund that can be tapped into for building plants that could accept and consume the waste, providing Nevada with a lot of cheap energy. In addition, it would also establish Nevada as an exporter of clean nuclear technologies that could replace the aging plants in this country as well as the proposed high-risk plants in unfriendly countries. When you add this to our wind, solar, and geothermal plants that will be coming on line, Nevada will then have energy as its third economic driver. With cheap power, and experience gained in advanced robotics that would handle the nuclear waste, the conditions will be ripe for additional economic drivers, namely IT, manufacturing, and other light industries.

Restore Nevada as a Leader in Liberty
During the great depression in the 1930’s, gambling was part of a large underground economy. Nevada took the lead in individual liberty by legalizing gambling and it was an historical success!! That single initiative added a second economic driver and brought decades of prosperity and thousands of jobs to Nevada. In time, other states followed and today Nevada offers only a little more individual liberty than other states. In short, Nevada has lost its edge.
We need to legalize the existing underground marijuana economy and recognize the full rights of all adults over the age of eighteen to drink and gamble. Read more
